NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CAITO
FOODS, FOOD TECH, BREAK GROUND FOR NEW PRODUCE CENTER
Newcomerstown, OH, August 2004 – On July 20, 2004, fresh produce distributor Caito Foods Service, Inc, began construction of its new facility addition at the project site in Newcomerstown, Ohio.
Along with design and construction management firm Food Tech Structures, LLC, of Hanover, Massachusetts, Caito Foods is increasing its existing Newcomerstown distribution center by 42,000 square feet; bringing the total facility footprint
to 104,000 square feet.
Food Tech’s president Luke Heffernan, P.E., remarked, “We are excited about this project, which follows closely on the heels of the original distribution center just two years ago. Caito’s growth in the marketplace
is exceptional, and we are proud to play a role in their success. This produce center is unique in that the layout supports very quick turnover of inventory, and the ability to simultaneously receive produce from suppliers and
ship to customers.”
“This initiative,” adds Heffernan, “will enable Caito to continue providing the same outstanding customer service and quality product that its customers have come to enjoy.”
