FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
FOOD TECH, HAWKEYE FOODSERVICE, CELEBRATE GROUNDBREAKING
Fairmont, MN, July 15, 2005 –
Fairmont, MN, July 15, 2005 – Massachusetts-based planning, engineering
and construction firm Food Tech Structures attended the June 17th
groundbreaking ceremony for Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution, Inc. in
Fairmont, Minnesota. Food Tech is designing and building a 90,000 SF
expansion and renovation to the broadline distributor's Fairmont facility.
“The project scope includes a freezer, meat cooler and refrigerated dock addition as well as renovations to the existing freezer, dry storage and battery charging room," says Food Tech Vice President Bob Ross, P.E. “The project poses a challenge," Ross adds, "because of the phasing required to maintain Hawkeye’s operations during construction. It is as much our goal as Hawkeye’s to carry out the project without interruption in service to Hawkeye's clients."
"The additional square footage that we are adding is certainly going to be beneficial as we continue to grow our business," says Jeff Braverman, Owner of Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution. "What really makes the investment worthwhile is the manner in which Food Tech helped us integrate an older, less efficient facility with the new space, without affecting service to our customers. Our collaboration with them has been invaluable."
With offices in Boston, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles, Food Tech (www.foodtech.com) specializes in the design and construction of food process and distribution facilities nationwide. For further information the company may be reached by email or phone, mgolden@foodtech.com; (800) 880-0118.
