FOOD TECH COMPLETES HAWKEYE FOODSERVICE DISTRIBUTION, INC. EXPANSION, TWO MONTHS EARLY
Fairmont, MN, April 25, 2006 – Massachusetts-based planning, engineering and construction firm Food Tech Structures has completed design and construction of a 90,000 square foot distribution center expansion and renovation for Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution, Inc., in Fairmont, Minnesota.
The project was completed two months ahead of schedule, a notable achievement, points out Food Tech President Luke Heffernan, P.E. The project required careful planning, scheduling and phasing in order to maintain Hawkeye’s operations uninterrupted throughout construction. The broadline distributor held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2005, for the facility expansion and renovation, the scope of which included a freezer, meat cooler and refrigerated dock addition as well as renovations to the existing freezer, dry storage and battery charging room.
